Community Organization Guide to Energy Saver NC
Common Questions About Energy Saver NC and Community Partnerships

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – Community Organizations
How can our organization be part of the Energy Saver NC program?
We’d love to work with you! CBOs can help spread the word, support residents with applications, and host community events. Just email us at energysaverncoutreach@aptim.com to get started.
When should our organization get involved?
The Energy Saver NC program is rolling out in phases, and in each phase, we’re holding info sessions with community partners and organizations to keep them and residents informed. Check out the Expansion Phases Map on our website or email energysaverncoutreach@aptim.com to learn more.
What if we know a contractor who might want to work with the program?
That’s great! Contractors are essential to making energy upgrades happen. If you know someone who’s interested, please direct them to the For Contractors webpage or have them email us at contractors@energysavernc.org to learn more about how to get involved.
What’s the difference between the Homeowners Managing Efficiency Savings (HOMES) and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) programs?
HOMES assesses your whole home energy usage through a free home energy assessment and provides rebates that boost your home’s energy efficiency like insulation, air sealing, and upgrading heating and cooling systems. HEAR is designed to help households install new efficient electric appliances and equipment. Residents can apply for both, but they’ll need to choose HOMES to get the assessment. Learn more about HOMES and HEAR programs.
What if something goes wrong with a project?
If there’s a delay or issue, residents should reach out to their contractor. If they need extra help, they can call us at 866-998-8555 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.) or email energysavernc@aptim.com.
Community Outreach
Can I create my own flyer or program materials?
We ask that partners do not create their own flyers or materials using our logo or branding elements. Please use the official program materials available in the Resource Library.
Using official materials helps ensure that the information shared with the community is accurate and up to date. Program details and resources are updated regularly, and using approved materials helps prevent outdated or incorrect information from being distributed.
If you have questions or need something different, please contact our team—we’re happy to work with you to find a solution.
Can we get printed flyers or materials to share with our community?
Yes! We have various printed marketing materials in English and Spanish. Please email us at energysaverncoutreach@aptim.com to request your Energy Saver NC Marketing Toolkit.
Can we host events with Energy Saver NC staff?
Definitely! We’d love to join your events or help you plan one. You can email us at energysaverncoutreach@aptim.com with your idea or fill out our Event Request Form to request a speaker, materials, or other support.
Are materials available in other languages?
Yes, most of the materials in the CBO Marketing Toolkit are available in Spanish. Plus, the Energy Saver NC website itself can be viewed in seven other languages, making it easier for users to access information in their preferred language. If you need materials in a language other than Spanish, please let us know, we’ll do our best to support you.
Tracking Impact & Giving Feedback
Will we get updates on how our community is participating?
We might be able to share data to help you track the program’s impact in your community. It depends on privacy rules, but we’ll work with you where we can. If you’re interested, email us at energysaverncoutreach@aptim.com.
How can we share feedback or ideas to improve the program?
We’d love to hear your ideas! You can email us at energysaverncoutreach@aptim.com anytime or share your thoughts at a partner meeting. Every suggestion helps us make the Energy Saver NC program work better for everyone.
